Be fertile !!
Or how fight effectively against the global warming.
“ Be fertile,
You fruit and multiply,
Fill the earth and subjugate it;
Dominate fishes of the sea,
On the birds of the sky
And on every human being who crawls on the earth ”.
We will be soon more than eight billion inhabitants on planet. It is provided that from here thirty-five years approximately, the current world population will have doubled. For some, this number can seem astronomical, whereas for others it appears ridiculous compared to the vastness of the territories being able to accomodate much more individuals, without endangering the fragile balance of the planetary ecosystems.
And yet, through all this ambiguity, one worries about the quality of life which our children and grandchildren will inherit. One supervises closely the parasitic intrusions of the man in the environment. The word "pollution" is part from now on of our daily speech and ecology almost became a religion, as well as the pure vegetarianism whose practice resembles to the ritual traditional monk more. Even the nonsmokers do not tolerate any more the presence of the smokers inside their medium of life, in their vital space.
Paradoxically, at the governmental level one sets up of the supplementary programmes to the family in order to incite people to make more children. But the hope of long-term improvement as regards quality of life for the families is not very large. Because a policy is dedicated in advance to the failure if it does nothing but encourage people to procreate, whereas vital spaces as regards housing do not make it possible any more to accomodate the large families. Without hoping the financial difficulties to provide for the needs in a company which is constantly solicited to consume. And that to say of all this duplicity surrounding the immigration policy play: "we are accessible people", say they! However the imminent danger of an overpopulation does not seem to worry them in addition to measurement. The economy of the country, the wild development and especially the immediate happiness of the electorate are the essential bases of their political philosophy.
Are these remarks an abusive interpretation of the situation? Perhaps! At all events, one tends to forget the situation which had course in England at the time of the Napoleonean wars: fast growth of the population, shortage of food and rate of high unemployment. But for people of then, this concern was only temporary. Indeed, there were the vast grounds of America to conquer and colonize. There was also the trade of cereals on an international scale which can save them famine. It is not any more the case today. There do not remain any more grounds to be conquered, unless changing planet! And even if the industrialized countries obtained a leading-edge technology in the field with agriculture, it does not remain about it less than the planet cannot nourish beyond its capacities.
Is one inclined with really seizing the importance of an ecosystem in balance? Or on the contrary, does one take pleasure to function through reports/ratios of force where premium the competition on a planetary scale? In a company like ours, is there the will to change the practices of life and to subject itself to certain constraints? A solution with the demographic problem in the world can only reside inside a policy of control of the increase in populations. Because it would not have to be waited until the wars, the famine, the epidemics as well as an irreversible pollution come to regulate the situation. Not more than one return behind of the puritanism or an apology moralisatrice in what milked with the birth control, even if the methods of contraception are not available in the majority of the world populations.
Consequently, a good diffusion of information in order to sensitize all the inhabitants of planet to the danger which an overpopulation represents should not be neglected. It is a responsibility which falls at all the planetary community. The health and the balance of planet, it is the business of all and each one!
